National Collector's MintFirst and Last Proof Set
Please note, the COA mentions only two replicas, thought the set comes with three.
The extra, or third, is NOT composed of silver. Probably gold plated bronze, though
I can't be certain. It is also a 1795 replica.
Only two replicas are silver (the ones with a reeded edge, and edge also states:
(.999 Fine Silver)
The COA
doesn't
give the weight of the rounds, nor that they are gold plated.
They certainly have plating, though I can't say for certain with what.
Note, there is a lot of tarnish from the silver leeching through
(especially the obverse of the 1929 replica).
From the COA:
This certifies and guarantees that each First and Last
Proof Set tribute contains two proofs. Each has been individually struck by the National Collector's Mint in
.999 Pure Silver, and is in collector's desired proof quality. The first proof, dated 1795 heralds the first Gold
Piece struck by the U.S. Government. The second, dated 1929, heralds the last Gold Piece.
The 1929 proof is struck in reverse-proof, and features an incuse design, where the devices
are struck into the proof, not raised from the surface.
Each proof in the set conforms to the following:
Composition: .999 Pure Silver
Diameter: 26mm
Set Edition Limit: 1,000
