The 1896 Silver Certificate was part of a set of the most artistic designs of United States Currency. The face design features a personification of Science presenting Steam and Electricity, to Commerce and Manufacture. The back features Robert Fulton, inventor of the steam boat, and Samuel Morse, inventor of Morse code.
