Glossy and cheery pink, this Art Deco necklace is not signed, however the design and construction reveals it to be Czech made from the 1930's. Full-sized beads are elongated and flat on either side allowing a pleasantly smooth and cool feel around your neck. The rosy hue of the glass compliments the floral design in the pendant, molded into the glass for a distinct and textural relief. A nice little feature, the hidden clasp clicks in place easily at the front of the necklace for a seamless look.

This piece is fresh looking and must have been tucked away and well
taken care of, the signs of wear are noticeable only on close inspection.
The glass is smooth and glossy looking without any chipping or surface wear and the molded design is crisp and intact.
The strand is firm without any loosening or gaps in the strand and all of the components look original.

There are no other irregularities to the setting or signs of solder or repair and the piece has a firm shape.

On Floriography.
Floriography, or the language of flowers, is rooted in the Victorian era. It refers to the assignment of special emotional meanings to certain flowers. Including those flowers in jewelry was a way to slyly convey one's feelings in a society that discouraged showing your emotions. For example, red roses were (and still are today) associated with romantic love and passion, while forget-me-knots were associated with remembrance.
On Czech Glass.
Czech or bohemian glass created from the end of the Victorian era through the mid-century was world-renowned for its unprecedented resemblance to natural gemstones. Skilled craftsman from the region engineered new methods of cutting and coloring glass to simulate the look of rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and more. In addition, Czech glass jewelry makers were highly trained in the metalwork for the settings around the glass. The Czech region produced so many different styles (all of superb quality) that Czech glass pieces have become their own collectable category.
