This piece has the silhouette, intricate beadwork and unique design detail of the Wiener Werkstatte, a productive cooperative of artisans, based in Vienna. Widely regarded as pioneering modern design, the Werkstatte group has inspired generations of artists with their timeless avant-garde work.  With a substantial weight and smooth and glossy surface, this necklace has a beautifully slinky and tactile feel when worn. The ropy chain of the necklace is classical Werkstatte craftsmanship but the ends are unique, bell shaped and tasseled with an oversized diamond pattern.

    On excellent condition
Antique and vintage pieces have been passed through generations, so it’s not often you find a piece that has be maintained in its near-original condition. Such pieces are not only higher in value, but they are also more collectible, as they carry the history of past owners but do not show it. They reveal what the piece would have looked like when it was first created, giving us an insight into a bygone era.
    On Art Deco
Art Deco is one of the first truly international styles, that influenced the design of buildings, furniture, fashion and of course, jewelry. The movement was given a name from the international exposition of Arts De
coratifs et Industriels Modernes, that was held in Paris in 1925 and largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Born out of ideas of modernism and the Industrial Age, this manifested into designs that used Cubism

s bold abstraction and rectilinear shapes and combined them with intricate patterning, bold color and symmetry. High-end jewelry design houses like Cartier and Boucheron set the trends in gold and gemstones, which were then emulated by costume jewelry companies in glass or perhaps plastics, and brought to the masses.
    On uncommon pieces
Uncommon antique and vintage pieces are often highly collectable because you are not likely to find another one. While some uncommon pieces have garnered a cult following, others are so uncommon that they do not have a large fanbase. The latter type may not be considered collectables, but they are lovely, almost one-of-a-kind finds.
